The stairs were a disaster/safety hazard in the making. Even the previous owner agreed and had already bought the wood and planks to redo before deciding to sell. So once the house was ours one of the first projects we did was replace the stairs.
Because nothing in the house was built correctly each step was a different size and had to be adjusted. It would have been lovely to measure and cut all the boards at once...if they were are the same size. Alas we had to measure, cut, fit, and repeat.
Once we were done it was time for carpet.
